Your Safety is our Priority.........!!
Nobody wants to leave their comfort zone at a time when the world is facing a global pandemic. The world will change, and we must prepare to battle.
One method is to ensure that we are in the safest environment possible, which Bansal Orthodontic Dental Center will give. Dentistry is the only healthcare treatment where the doctor has the most direct interaction with the patient.
So, here is an updated list of the safety steps Bansal Orthodontic Dental Center has implemented to combat Covid-19 and provide a 100% sanitary and safe environment for our patients, doctors, and staff.
Dental Instrument Sterilization
Sterilization is important because germs are microbes and microbes are everywhere. They are found in anything that contains water, including all living things, even us. Many microbes are beneficial, and necessary, for human life. But some are not, and to stay safe from the germs that cause disease, it’s important to make sure you don’t come into contact with them in the first place. Sterilization is the best way to do that. It’s different from disinfecting, in that disinfecting only reduces life forms and biological agents. The sterilization process effectively destroys all microorganisms present on the object or surface being sterilized. That’s why sterilization of tools, appliances, and surfaces in a dental office is at the top of the list of important ways your dentist cares for patients and staff members.
Disposable Gloves
Hands are properly sanitised and dried before donning gloves. A new pair of gloves is worn for every patient. Gloves are even changed if they appear to be contaminated during the treatment.
Face Masks
They work as protective shields and prevents splatters and aerosols from getting into contact with the mucous membranes of the nose and mouth. N95/KN95 masks along with 3 ply Surgical Masks are used basis the type of treatment being done. Even the patients are given face masks in case they are not carrying their own.
Surgical Coverall/Gowns
Gowns are critical elements of the PPE since they are the second- most-used piece of PPE, following gloves. No dental procedure is taken up without donning the surgical gown.
We follow all the disinfection and sterilization procedures needed for infection control. These are used for each and every patient to prevent the transmission of the AIDS virus and other infectious diseases. Preventing the spread of disease is of the utmost concern for both the dental staff and the patient. You can be assured that, we meet or exceed all standards for infection control as set forth by ADA (American Dental Association) and IDA (Indian Dental Association). We regularly undergo training to insure that our infection control skills and knowledge is fresh and up to date in India and world to offer the best possible dental tourism experience to our patients.
It is very essential for people to understand the importance of hygiene and sterilization especially when visiting a dental clinic. Since dental treatment requires contact with the saliva and blood of patients, Communicable diseases and illnesses are easily transferred through the same. Bansal Orthodontic Dental Center takes every possible step to prevent cross contamination and protect the health of our patients. The heightened emphasis on hygiene at Bansal Orthodontic Dental Center Clinic ensures the well-being of our patients at all times.
Some of the infection control methods we utilize are:
- Our dentists and dental-team members (dental hygienist and assistant) wash their hands and put on a fresh pair of gloves before starting treatment. New disposable gloves are used whenever we enter the operatory.
- Masks and protective eyewear are worn during dental procedures.
- Disposable supplies such as masks, wipes, paper drapes, suction/water tube tips, needles and scalpel blades, are used only once and then disposed of properly. Using disposable items is another way that dentists maintain a clean and sterile office.
- All surfaces are either covered with disposable plastic or disinfected prior to each patient’s use
The procedure for sterilization of instruments are-
All instruments, including hand pieces, are sterilized after each use and sealed.
- Instruments are first scrubbed clean to remove debris with spirit swabs.
- Then they are immersed in 5% Korsolex sterilizing solution for 45 minutes for standard disinfection.
- Cold sterile instruments are then packed in individualized sterile packs and sterilized in a steam autoclave.
- Dental Instruments, in sterile packages, are then stored in U.V.Chamber to maintain the sterilization, which are opened in front of the patient.
We, at Bansal Orthodontic Dental Center and Orthodontic Centre follow all the disinfection procedures needed for infection control which is a priority.
- Our sterilization equipment is regularly checked to insure its effectiveness in killing all pathogenic organisms and a new pack of supplies is opened in front of the patient prior to the treatment.
- Surgical scrubs or over-garments are worn (we do not wear scrubs out of the office).
- All hazardous material is clearly labeled.
- Bio-hazardous waste material is separately stored and removed from the facility.
Never let uncertainty about safety keep you away from getting dental treatment done in India, or cause anxiety while you’re here, because your and our health is too important. We as health professionals are more susceptible to contacting infectious diseases while working on our patients. And therefore we follow stringent measures of sterilization and disinfection for everyone’s safety.
